Why House of US Exists | A Conversation with the Founder

In this founder interview, Natascha Dammann shares the story behind House of US and the core questions that shaped its mission. This conversation explores why social empathy is essential to a healthy society, how division and disconnection threaten our shared future, and why building the “WE” in all of us is not optional but rather necessary. House of US is a nonpartisan, community-centered organization dedicated to strengthening social empathy through education, storytelling, dialogue, and civic engagement ~ focusing on our next generation.

This interview is not about politics.

It is about people. It is about responsibility, belonging, and humanity.

Student-Led MLK Day Solidarity Gathering

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, House of US supported a peaceful, student-led gathering in Irvine, California, centered on human rights, youth voice, and shared civic responsibility.

Students organized and led the event to honor Dr. King’s legacy while expressing solidarity with the people of Iran. House of US served as a facilitator, supporting students in grounding the gathering in nonviolence, dignity, and social empathy.

Are you political?

This question comes up often. In this episode of Q&A | You Asked. We Answered., we explain what “political” really means - and why House of US is nonpartisan while still working for the public good.

Our focus is not parties or power.
It’s people, community, and strengthening the “WE” in all of us.

Our work is guided by shared human values - care, responsibility, and connection across difference.
